GOT Polish Challenge - Dots

Hi, guys! Today's Golden Oldie Thursday (GOT) Polish Challenge theme is dots. I started with a base of Essie Wrapped in Rubies.

Wrapped in Rubies is a pretty, deep burgundy color that I still like very much. Once it was dry, I used my dotting tools to apply dots in various sizes using MASH Matte Polish top coat.

I'm not sure if this came out quite how I had envisioned, but I do like the subtlety of it. :)

Monday Blues - Flakie Fest-ival

Hi, guys - Happy Monday! I'm really excited about today's Monday Blues because this is a mani I had been wanting to do for awhile.

The base color is Sinful Colors Cold Leather. This is from the Sinful Colors Leather Luxe collection of matte polishes and is pretty much my go-to navy blue. I've swatched it by itself below. I love it both matte and with top coat.

I've seen flakies look amazing with darker polishes, so I applied two coats of piCture pOlish Festival over Cold Leather. Yep...total awesomeness.  :)

Thanks for reading and have a great week!

GOT Polish Challenge - Blue

Hello there! Today's Golden Oldie Thursday (GOT) Polish Challenge theme is blue. My oldest blue polish is Essie Fair Game.

Fair Game is a somewhat shimmery, somewhat frosty grey blue. I got this one back when wearing anything other than red or pink would pretty much have been out of my comfort zone. It was something different, yet not too crazy.

For funsies I added some super easy french tip dots using Essie Over the Edge and a small dotting tool. I've also had this polish for quite awhile.

The challenge details are below. Be sure to check out the other GOT manis, too!

Monday Blues - ILNP My Little Glacier

Hi, guys! Today is Monday and that means the Monday Blues. I decided to change things up a bit this week with some stamping!

The base color is one of the I Love Nail Polish "Ultra Chromes" - My Little Glacier. My Little Glacier is a very cool, silvery blue polish.

I stamped using Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and an image from MoYou Princess Collection 09. This was my first time using an XL "squishy" stamper, and let me tell you - we are talking total game changer! It was so easy to use and I got a practically perfect transfer every time! Now I just need to find one in a color other than white...

Go Pats!

Hi, guys! Any football fans out there? My boyfriend and I are Patriots fans, which can be "interesting" here in the Denver area.  :)   Tonight, though, we are going to a Patriots party at a pub downtown for a little pre-game fun, so of course I had to do some fun nails, too!

On my thumb I used Milani Chocolate Sprinkles and a white striper polish to make a football. On my index finger I am wearing Sinful Colors Cold Leather - I really like this matte polish, but I love how super shiny it is with a top coat! My middle finger is ellagee Lucy in the Sky and over that I applied a New England Patriots nail tattoo (these are pretty easy to find on ebay). The glitter on my ring finger is Sick Lacquers Star Spangled Glamour over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. On my pinky I have Ninja Polish Ambrosia, my favorite shimmery red.

I'm definitely ready for game day! Will you be cheering for anybody tomorrow?

Monday Blues - KBShimmer Will Yule Marry Me?

Hi, guys - Happy Monday! I have a gorgeous polish to share for today's Monday Blues - KBShimmer Will Yule Marry Me?

Will Yule Marry Me? is a beautiful shade of navy blue with silver holo glitters. I really love all the little circle glitters in it. This polish had me constantly checking out my nails because it absolutely sparkles like crazy!

GOT Polish Challenge - Pink

Hi, everyone! I've teamed up with Crumpet's Nail Tarts for the Golden Oldie Thursday (GOT) Polish Challenge where we show our oldest polishes some love. I haven't been a polishaholic for all that long, so most of my polishes are newer. Regardless, I'll do my best with what I've got because this challenge looks like a lot of fun!

Today's theme is pink. My oldest pink is Essie Eternal Optimist. This is a polish I had in the "before time", so I've had it for maybe a few years. I truly adore this shade - it's soft and pretty and totally work appropriate, too.

I added a coat of Essie As Gold As It Gets to give it a little something special and because gold + pink makes me happy.  :)

The details of the challenge are below. Be sure to check out the other GOT manis, too!

Monday Blues - Frozen Over...and Over!

Hi, guys and Happy Monday! I am so excited to be joining the Monday Blues link up this year! Today I have a wintry blue mani that definitely reflects the weather here right now...brrrrrr!

The base color is Maybelline Color Show Frozen Over. I believe this is new - I just recently found it in a display at Bed Bath & Beyond. It's a very pretty light blue with a delicate pink shimmer.

The glitter topper is Pipe Dream Polish Frozen Over ! It's a lovely combination of blue, white, and silver glitters - I love how these two look together!

Be sure to check out the other Monday Blues manis below! Thanks for reading and have a great week!

DIY Heart Nail Decals

Hi, guys - Happy Saturday! Today I have a fun little mani that I did trying out a DIY nail decal technique for the first time.

This sparkling red polish is Pipe Dream Polish Red Light. Red Light is "made up of holographic pink, silver, and purple glitter in a red jelly base" and it is soooo seriously pretty! On my middle finger I applied the super lovely Zoya Caitlin.

Following this tutorial by Drama Queen Nails, I used Red Light to make some heart nail decals. The application took me a bit of playing around and I actually wrecked a few in the process, lol! The polish dried quite hard so the decals were really stiff, but I found that if I slightly bent them first I could get them to lay nicely on the nail.

I love the finished look and I can't wait to use this technique again!

You can check out Red Light and many other beautiful polishes at the new Pipe Dream Polish Big Cartel Shop and on Facebook. Thanks for reading!

Mentality Lisa - 2014 Color of the Year

Happy New Year, everyone! I had been thinking about doing a New Year's themed mani, but when I received my recent order from Mentality Nail Polish yesterday, I just had to wear Lisa right away!

Radiant Orchid has been named the 2014 Color of the Year and Mentality has a section on their Big Cartel Store dedicated to it! Because I already needed to order Tempest after seeing it on a couple "Best of 2013" lists, I figured I would check out the new purples while I was there. I finally decided on Lisa, which is part of the Luxe Textured Glass Holo Collection.

Lisa is "a super dense red-purple holographic glass fleck nail polish". This polish has the most beautiful sparkle and glow to it - I just love it! Although it's a textured polish, I am wearing it here with a top coat.

You can check out Mentality polishes at their Big Cartel Store and on Facebook.
